ACi Mirage III
This new mobile P-III processor-based 500 MHz notebook has 64 MB RAM, an ATi Rage LT graphics accelerator and 8 MB of video memory-all these make Mirage III one of the most powerful solutions for mobile computing. With a plethora of integrated components such as 24x CD-ROM drive, integrated ESS Maestro sound, 13.3-inch TFT, built-in 56K V.90 modem and FireWire port, this notebook is ideal for video-editing applications.
Naturally, the sheer processing power of this system enables it to do very well in the tests. The build quality was fairly good, but the screen was not very bright at 1024x768. Moreover, it rippled slightly when the edges were pressed. Also, the system was power-hungry and lasted for only 76 minutes in the battery longevity test. The package includes carry case, installation CD, power adapter and PS/2 cord.
This notebook is a viable choice for those looking for a desktop replacement. Though high on power, it has a very low battery life.
